[hidden] - 312 42 SALSA. 4th Annual Pro-Am Salsa Dance Contest at the Cubby Bear: PRELIMS: 7/5, 7/12, 7/19, 8/2 & 8/9 FINAL: 8/16 Finalists! TBA 1. In The Final, the 1st place winners will receive $ 600.00. 2nd place $ 300.00 & 3rd place $ 100.00. All the dancers who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd will also receive trophies. 2. The Winning couple will be able go to participate in World Salsa Summitt in the Pro-Am Showcase category in February 2016 in Miami! Fees for their category and dancer pass will be waived. 3. The winning couple will also qualify to go directly to the FINAL of the $5000 Salsa Open at Cubby Bear in December 13th, 2015. 4. During the final, the winners will be chosen by a panel of judges. Audience will be considered 1 judge. 5. Proper attire must be worn. Costumes are encouraged. 7. This is an "Pro-Am" contest. One Professional dancer and one Amateur dancer or two amateur dancers are allowed to enter. Pros are allowed to enter the contest more than once, with different Amateur dance partners. 8. Amateur dancer is considered to be someone who has never been paid to perform nor teach Salsa. 9. A Pro, is considered to be anyone who has been paid to teach or perform Salsa. Also, (a) people who have won 2 Amateur Salsa Contests with a cash prize, or (b) have placed top 3 in 2 Open Salsa Contest will count as Pros. 10. Contestants must check in at the Cubby Bear by 9:15pm or you may be disqualified. 11. There will be a free-style dancing component and a choreography component of the contest. 13. The dance order of contestants will be determined by lottery the night of the competition. 17. Choreographies for contestants eligible for the Final round must bring their own music (CD only) for a maximum of two (2) minutes. 18. Dancers must dance "On 1" or "On 2"... no switching from one to the other within the same choreography is allowed. 19. Competitors must show proper etiquette during the contest by refraining from distracting behavior as other contestants are dancing. 20. No video cameras are allowed! 21. No dancer guest list on the day of the final. 21. Everyone in order to compete must understand and agree with the Latin Street/Cubby Bear scoring process. 22.
