As a young man he began dancing, and today teaches and performs in Buenos Aires and around the world, sharing this unique dance. Together with Karen Jaffe, local Asheville teacher and dancer, they will offer you some insight into how the dance came into existence and where it is evolving today. Join us in this relaxed atmosphere to soak in some Argentine culture and history and enjoy the dancing! Presented by Tangogypsies; Karen teaches weekly fundamentals classes in Asheville, travels around the US supporting growing tango communities with her teaching. She hosts world class instructors, creating events for dancers to grow and enjoy dancing socially. Tate lives in Buenos Aires where he teaches twice weekly classes. He travels the world and has performed in numerous events and shows, is a student of the bandoneon and most recently learned how to repair and refurbish these classic tango instruments! Tate is in the USA for 1 month, traveling with Karen to share their mutual joy and knowledge of this amazing dance.
