Hip Hop Workshop (All Levels) with Pavan Thimmaiah (NYC) Saturday, January 9th, 12:30-1:45pm $5 drop-ins, FREE for DG members Join Pavan Thimmaiah, Director of PMT Dance Studio in New York City, for a one-time only workshop during $5 class week! Students will enjoy a challenging form of Hip Hop that incorporates elements of Funk, Street Dance and Old Skool styles. While learning how these can blend together, students will get a greater appreciation of each individual style - staying true to the fundamentals and intentions of each style. A heavy emphasis on musicality and performance will be placed on students, enabling them to maximize their potential. All levels are welcome! Pavan has worked as a professional choreographer and dancer in New York City for over fifteen years, founding PMT Dance Studio in 2001. During this time, he has taught at Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, Long Island University, New York University, Peridance, the School of American Ballet, and more. Pavan has trained, performed with and choreographed for many popular artists such as Vanilla Ice, Apache Indian, Stefani Vara, Alex Feder, the XYZ Affair, Matt Palmer and Sean Paul. He has also appeared on TV programs such as the Conan O’Brien Show, Breaking Amish (2014) and on CNN and MTV, as well as being a frequent choreographer and performer for NBC’s The Today Show (2010, 2012, 2013, 2/2015, 9/2015).
