In conjunction with the selection by Paul Taylor of Donald McKayle’s "Rainbow ’Round My Shoulder" as a masterwork of American modern dance to be returned to the stage during the 2016 Season of Paul Taylor's American Modern Dance (PTAMD) , ADLI will present a workshop on "Rainbow Etude", a distillation of the larger work. The workshop will include two simultaneous classes at 12:00pm, one for advanced level dancers from teen to adult, and the other for persons with Parkinson's disease. The classes will be followed by a lecture demonstration at 2:30pm, including the screening of excerpts from the “Rainbow” documentary, "Images and Reflections: Celebration of a Masterpiece".
