CMDC welcomes Sophia Stoller back to teach Wednesday from 8:30-10pm. As always, class is just $5 cash at Brockus Project Studios! Sophia Stoller is a choreographer, dancer, dance educator based in Los Angeles, CA. Sophia hasshown work in festivals and venues locally and internationally, including REDCAT, Electric Lodge, ShowBox L.A.'s Anatomy Riot, the Fowler Museum, SoCal Dance Invitational, and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company’s Nizozot Showcase. Additionally, Sophia has presented self-produced work in Los Angeles, including Still Breath at Mimoda Theater and Chrysalis at Bootleg Theater. She has choreographed a number of projects for the camera, including the short filmsExcess Nothing, Imaginary City, Jarell Perry’s music video, Relapse, and You and the Moth, directed by Geri Ulrey. From 2010-2013, Sophia was one of the Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors of Soul Lab Dance Project, an all-female dance collective based in Los Angeles dedicated to creating multi-disciplinary performance work and producing community events that encourage connections made though a shared love of art and diversity. She holds an MFA in Choreography from California Institute of the Arts, and a BA in World Arts and Cultures/Dance and a BA in Psychology from UCLA. Sophia has performed with Nickerson-Rossi Dance, Union Project Dance Company, and Soul Lab Dance Project. She currently teaches Contemporary and Modern technique, Composition, and Creative Movement for the Gabriella Foundation and at Mar Vista Elementary. More Info below.
