This Sunday workshop will be covering Silver Waltz and Foxtrot for $38. Taught by Tanya Arnhold Classic, Beautiful & Elegant Waltz is a much disciplined dance, and is not easy to master quickly. Waltz comes from the German word "waltzen," which means "to turn." The turn is the essence of the waltz step. The waltz is done in 3/4 time with an accent on the first beat of every measure. It is comprised of rotating box steps with the added characteristics of rise and fall, sway, rotation, and pendulum action. Elegant, Sassy, Timeless - Foxtrot, originally danced to ragtime, is customarily accompanied by big band music. It was the most popular dance from the late teens through the 1940s. Foxtrot utilizes a slow-quick-quick rhythm as well as a slow-slow-quick-quick rhythm. More Info below.
