Through intentional awareness, breath and movement (dance) we can access this power and consciously work with it and through it. We can open portals of catalyst, change, renewal, healing and actualization both for ourselves personally and for the collective. This workshop offers the tools for each participant to have direct response and immediate experience with the power, potential and divine intelligence of our body temples. Sedona and Kalidasi will be sharing various practices and processes for opening and balancing the chakras, clearing the meridians and energetic pathways, cultivating Shakti (life force energy), focusing the mind, clarifying intent and preparing the body to serve a high vibratory sacred instrument of transmission. (Practices rooted in Belly Dance, Temple Dance, Yoga and Priestess Arts Lineages) Temple Dance Technique: This workshop will serve as a dynamic exploration into the entrancing art of Modern Temple Dance. Originally danced as an act of offering in the ancient temples of India and Nepal, these exquisite dances are now reemerging in synthesized expression for this modern era. Drawing inspiration from these ancient traditions we will cover shapes, symbology, gorgeous sculptural poses, precise postural alignments, arm pathways, foot work and mystical and meaningful mudra. After detailing and drilling various temple dance techniques and choice embellishments, we will then fuse them seamlessly with Belly Dance movement to create a unique and enchanting modern fusion. Temple Dance is a powerful expression of refinement, beauty and devotional intent; this workshop gives us the opportunity to open our ancient eyes and embody the magic of the form. Temple Fusion Ritual Dance Choreography: This powerful ritual dance choreography features a beautiful and modern merging of Belly Dance, Indian and Nepalese Temple Dance, Mudric Arts and embodied Yogic principles, all infused with focused ritual intent. Each movement and motion is filled with intention and meaning, affirming and activating our power and presence as Divine Dancers. Sedona is also teaching a bellydance skills and drills technique class the Friday evening before the intensive: [hidden] More Info below.
