Bachata is the R&B of Latin music. Born in the dark alleys of the Dominican Republic where broken-hearted cowboys would go to find love, Bachata was once considered scandalous, but is now respected around the world and some would say as popular as salsa. The dance has developed into 3 main styles: traditional Dominican (involving lots of fancy footwork), modern/contemporary (incorporating many turn patterns), and Sensual bachata (which uses knee leads, body rolls, and isolations to give the illusion of passion that is portrayed by the music). We teach all three because we believe that a good bachatero (one who dances bachata) knows how to properly incorporate all three styles in their dancing. Other less common styles include bachatango (bachata meets tango), and crunkchata (a fusion of Bachata, Hip Hop, and Reggaeton.) _________________________________ More About Our Classes! ♦ Beginner & Essential Techniques!
