Kizomba & Zouk Dance Wednesdays @ The Deck

This is an opportunity for you right at the heart of Baltimore to learn and dance Brazilian Zouk, Kizomba and/or Urban Kiz! Sharing Afro-Caribbean roots, Brazilian Zouk, Kizomba and Urban Kiz are among the fastest growing in popularity partner dances worldwide. And when you hear the music, see these dances, and feel the vibes, youll know exactly why! Brought to you by an independent collaboration of MD-DC-VA area dancers, DJs, and promoters, the goal of KiZouk Wednesdays is to share the love, joy and cultures of these beautiful dances with the Baltimore community. The events will run in the following format: 7pm to 8pm dance class, (alternating weekly between Kizomba/Urban Kiz and Brazilian Zouk). 8pm to 10pm dance social playing a mix of Zouk, Kizomba, Afrobeat and RB remixes with a sprinkling of Bachata for our Latin dance lovers! The events will be suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced dancers. No partner is necessary to take the class or dance. Partnerships will be made on the spot and will rotate throughout the evening. The 4-week class schedule is as follows: May 11 Brazilian Zouk with Kai Hall May 18 Kizomba with Umka Pele May 25 Brazilian Zouk with Kai Hall June 1 Urban Kiz with Didon Lobe Akasha Dorman The events will be held at THE DECK (200 International Drive, in front of Maximon restaurant), the most beautiful outdoor waterfront spot in Charm City. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to one of nearby venues. Our instructors, assistants and organizers are volunteering their time to share their dance art and play music for you with some of them traveling from over an hour away. Your donations will help cover their travel and parking expenses and logistical event costs making it possible for us to keep bringing you these learning, dance, and social opportunities week after week.
