TEODORA - Tango Marathon Teatro Artificerie Almagi RAVENNA - ITALY TEODORA is a tango event in the splendid city of Ravenna. Four days of tango in a historic city with plenty of art and mosaics, tourism, fun, excellent food and wine !!! Right in the middle of Romagna region, on the Adriatic coast among Venezia, Rimini and Bologna. RAVENNA the old capital of the Western Roman Empire RAVENNA door and bridge of the East during the Byzantine Empire RAVENNA and its Cultural Heritage (during the marathon you can visit the 7 UNESCO monuments) RAVENNA the city with the portrait of TEODORA (the Byzantine mosaics and the church of San Vitale). RAVENNA [hidden] Who is TEODORA? TEODORA is the Queen of Constantinople in the mosaics of San Vitale in Ravenna (there are no other portraits of Theodora in the world). TEODORA was Empress of the Roman Empire of the East and became in our tango event our dancer Santa protectress because when she was a girl she was a dancer, a circus acrobat, a singer, a musician, a traveler. All qualities that tango dancers know well !!! Do not you think !!! TEODORAs venue is very evocative and fascinating. TEATRO ARTIFICERIE ALMAGIA' are located in the port-dock of Ravenna (5 minutes walk to the city center). An old sulfur warehouse built at the end of the 19th century, it is today a splendid example of industrial architecture renovated and converted to the promotion of art and cultural events. IT IS VERY EASY TO GET TO RAVENNA !!! Ravenna stands right in the middle between Bologna and Rimini airports. It is 45 minutes (by train) from Bologna and Rimini airports.
