Astoria Arts and Movement Center

The AAMC studio is a 501c3 and a collection of passionate professionals who want to share our love of dance, movement, yoga, fitness & art with you. The AAMC was formed out of a direct need for a diverse dance, performing arts, and physical education studio that served ALL ages and offered a wide range of classes, recreational activities and specialty workshops open to the community on the North Coast. Our Students The AAMC extends ALL of its classes to every age, ability, gender, ethnicity, race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, economic class, and interest. Our students have ranged in ages from 6 to 71 and are from very diverse backgrounds. We partner with institutions and organizations such as Warrenton High School, Astoria High School, The Harbor, the Lower Columbia Hispanic Council, the Senior Center, Clatsop Community College, Columbia Memorial Health, the Lower Columbia Q Center, CASA, KMUN, and Clatsop Behavioral Health in an attempt to include individuals that may not consistently have access to arts and movement classes. Our Instructors All AAMC instructors are certified professionals passionate about teaching their craft. Each and every one is dedicated to their personal practice while committed to providing quality education and training to the community. Our instructors are continually inspired by their students, learning as much from them as they do from us. Our Challenge In order to operate and keep classes affordable ($5 to $10 per class) the AAMC relies on grant funding, donations and fundraising. We are a 502(c)3 non-profit organization (EIN 47 -2409238) We KNOW there is a need for dance, performing art, physical education and recreational activities on the North Coast and we take this to heart. The AAMC seeks to meet this essential need, as it is our main objective that everyone has access to these vital things that strengthen us on both an individual and communal level. Our Gratitude On behalf of our instructors, our students, volunteers, and those who believe in the AAMC, I wish to thank all of our suporters. Your time, efforts and generosity makes it possible for the AAMC to continue to both inspire and serve the local community, endeavors we take directly to heart.
