Built in 1906 as a Masonic Temple, this historic building was reborn as an upscale boutique hotel on Walnut street in downtown Springfield. Located in the heart of Downtown Springfield Missouri at the corner of Walnut Street and Robberson Avenue, Hotel Vandivort is the first centrally located downtown hotel to tap into the unique walkability of Springfield's arts, dining, and entertainment cultural hub. This upscale independent boutique hotel focuses on creating a truly unique local experience for its guests and patrons. THE BUILDING The hotel project includes a complete renovation of the historic 107 year-old Masonic Temple building, previously known as the Vandivort Center, along with a new 8,700 square foot addition to the north. Built as a masonic temple in 1906 the building is steeped in the rich history and tradition of the downtown community. Hotel Vandivort seeks to pair modern design and comforts with the building's unique architectural character and extensive past. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and is designated as a local historic site. The owners have partnered with preservation organizations to reclaim the building's history and original beauty while creating a thriving social and hospitality venue. THE DESIGN At the forefront of design, Hotel Vandivort will boast a unique boutique design style embracing the historic elements of the building while pairing clean modern design with a vintage industrial vibe. The design plays on the contrast of historic/vintage and modern/swank. Guests will feel they have entered a truly unique space of artistic high-end style. The lobby and public spaces will exhibit surprising design statements, such as an interior living wall and a large artistic light installation in the bar. THE STAY Hotel Vandivort will have 50 rooms—including 12 suites and 2 premiere suites—designed to meet the needs of both out-of-town guests and locals looking for a “staycation” or a space to entertain.
