Thirayattam is a ritual art form popular in Kozhikode and Kannur districts of North Kerala. It is performed from Dhanu to Medam [ roughly, mid-December to mid-May], every year. Kerala Tourism, as part of its Virtual Onam 2021 celebrations, has embarked on a unique mission to feature near-extinct traditional art forms of God’s Own Country. This visual treat seeks to bring together Malayalis across the globe during Onam 2021, ushering in the festival season with positivity.
