LEARN: An easy yet impressive Gumboot Dance sequence for your Choir | Molo Molo | South Africa

Vote for Video:

Let your choir 'get active'. This easy gumboot dancing sequence can be used at the end of any up-tempo song to provide a powerful ending to your performance. It looks tricky, but with a bit of practise, ANY choir can transform into a gumboots squad. 1. Find any folk song (in any language or from any culture) of 140-150 BPM 2. Perform the song with a steady drum beat, focusing on the 4 crotchet/quarter beats 3. Once your song ends, transition straight into this dance sequence. 4. 'Unleash' your singers, with spontaneous noise, whistling and shouting 5. If they speed up out of pure excitement, so be it :-) Performers in this video: Caleb Saks, Itebogeng Machobane, Neo Ramalitse, Sbongakonke Maphumulo, Kudzai Kamwendo (Members of the Kearsney College Choir) For any performance or musical questions, or for suggestions and scores of South African choral songs, contact [email protected]
