This is a rare clip showing perhaps the most famous prima ballerina of the modern era, Natalia Makaova, and one of her favorite partners, Ivan Nagy, dancing the White Swan Pas de Deux from "Swan Lake." They are accompanied on-stage by violinist Itzhak Perlman and cellist Lynn Harrell. This was performed on May 13, 1984 as part of a 100th anniversary celebration at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Ms. Makarova was forty-four at the time of this performance. Ivan Nagy had retired six years earlier, in 1978, at the age of thirty-five, but was coaxed by Makarova to return for this one performance.
