Traditional Armenian Dance "Shalaho" | Shamiramdance

Vote for Video:

Olga "Shamiram" Kramarova performs traditional Armenian dance, "Shalaho." Typically this dance is performed by one female dancer and multiple male dancers, and the original composition is much longer. This piece highlights the female dancer's entrance and is a portion taken from the longer composition. The faster, percussive rhythms are for male dance sections where they show off their athleticism and agility, while this piece shows the female solo, focusing on the grace and fluidity of movement.
